Why I Switched from Mailchimp to Flodesk

Any modern marketer growing their business online knows that email marketing is a must in order to convert your followers to loyal customers. Unlike social media marketing, your emails have a longer life span than Instagram posts or tweets.

If you are reading this then you may already understand why email marketing is important. But if you don't know, let me share some email marketing statistics with you.

According to Oberlo, a dropshipping company for e-commerce stores, "Average expected ROI is $42 for every $1 you spend on email marketing. 81% of small businesses rely on email as their primary customer acquisition channel, and 80% for retention. The average open rate for a welcome email is 82%."

Wow! Talk about the importance of email marketing!

When it comes to email marketing there are many systems that allow you to set up email automation, landing pages, and a workflow management strategy. When I started off my email marketing campaign, I used Mailchimp to ease my way into it. Little did I know, there was a better, easier, and more fun way to execute my email marketing strategy. (I found the templates in Mailchimp basic and uninspiring.)

My discovery of email marketing bliss was Flodesk. My good friend, Linda of the Email Collection, suggested I try Flodesk when I was having issues with Mailchimp. I immediately signed up and was in awe of how easy it was to set up email automation workflows, landing pages, and segment contacts.

Flodesk has email automation templates that are customizable for your brand and they give you inspiration for what to write when you are stuck. In Mailchimp, the templates just had placeholders with no content to inspire you to write. It merely said “Now that you've selected a template…” Flodesk literally starts you off with copy that you can customize to fit your brand voice and message.

Flodesk’s email marketing templates inspire creativity with the designs that are ready to use. While you are able to customize these templates, they are still great to keep as is if you don’t have a creative bone in your body. (Or if you’re just depleted of creativity because the kids are driving you bonkers.) Email marketing tips are also provided by Flodesk because they want to make sure you are getting the most out of your investment with them.

From email automation ideas to workflow mapping suggestions, Flodesk has you covered and has to be one of the best email marketing platforms out there. (If not the best!)
